Nestled on the shores of Moberly Lake, BC, this 52,000 sq foot private residence is being dubbed the Jewel of the North by it's proud owners.
In August of 1999, the log work was disassembled and loaded piece by piece onto 35 tridon trailers. The trailers were then loaded onto 26 BC Rail cars that wound their way into Northern British Columbia with the precious cargo. Anxiously awaiting the train at Moberly Lake were 15 craftsmen, two cranes, camp personnel, and Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia Owner and Master Craftsman Bryan Reid Sr. This team of proud Craftsmen spent the next twelve days from dawn to dusk re-assembling the log shell.
The next task was to re-assemble the intricate combination post and beam roof structure. This task which was completed in record time, would not have been possible without the specialty heavy timber framing specialty skills of Peter Arnold and Beat Schwaller. Racing the snow, the roof was completely framed within 22 days and Pioneer Craftsmen are now completing the structure to lock-up with an impressive copper trimmed metal roof, and BC handcrafted windows and doors from MasterCraft Windows and Doors of Kamloops BC.
Completion of this 52,000 sq foot family home is expected to take approximately 2 years. Pioneer Log Homes is Proud to have been chosen as the Log Building Contractor working with this home's wonderful family and assisting them in achieving their dream log home.
